- Diagnosed with hypertension 9 mos. ago
- Currently on hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg qd
- BP: 162/96, BMI 30.6 kg/m2
- ECG: borderline LVH
- K+ = 3.3, Na+ = 140, BUN = 20, creatinine = 1.2, uric acid = 7.2, fasting glucose = 108, HgbA1c =
6.7, total cholesterol = 243, LDL-C = 162, HDL-C = 34, TG = 324
- Nonsmoker
- No alcohol use
- Developed peripheral edema while using a calcium channel blocker
- Father died from MI
- Mother hospitalized for chest pain a few times
